Mara joined D.B. Boarding in 2004 after completing her Diploma in Animal Technology, bringing with her not only strong technical skills but also a genuine passion for animal care. With an Arts Degree and experience in hospitality, Mara’s career path reflects her people skills and creativity—but it was her natural, heartfelt connection with animals that ultimately guided her to where she truly belongs.

For Mara, caring for animals isn’t just a job—it’s a calling. She is deeply committed to ensuring every guest feels safe, comfortable and loved during their stay.

From providing warm, cosy bedding and attentive grooming sessions, Mara ensures our older feline guests enjoy comfort and dignity in their golden years. She is meticulous with administering medications and takes the time to understand each cat’s individual needs, routines and quirks.

Her patience, warmth and unwavering compassion make her an invaluable part of the D.B. Boarding team. Mara doesn’t just care for animals—she advocates for them, nurtures them and treats every one as if they were her own.
