Meet Kalinda

Kalinda
Vet Nurse
With 12 years of experience as a veterinary nurse, Kalinda brings both knowledge and genuine passion to every patient she cares for. As a proud “crazy cat lady” and mum to four cats, she definitely has a special soft spot for our feline friends — especially the tiniest ones! She also hand-raises orphaned neonatal kittens from as young as a few hours old. Kalinda always takes that extra bit of time to make sure your cat feels safe and comfortable while in our care.
That said, she absolutely love dogs too — and you’ll often catch her sneaking them a few extra treats in the waiting room.
Outside of work, Kalinda enjoys reading in her garden, exploring new places with her camera, and heading off on road trips — often with her cats along for the adventure.

Primrose
Primrose is Kalinda’s first cat. She was found by a wildlife rescue team who, while collecting a sick koala, heard a kitten crying. Primrose was 250g, roughly half of what she should have weighed at 5 weeks old. She sparked a passion in Kalinda for raising orphaned neonates, and the two have since cared for countless kittens in their 10 years together.
Toulouse
Toulouse came home to Kalinda at 7 weeks old. He was Primrose’s first kitten to help raise and their bond is still apparent even 9 years later. Toulouse is shy when strangers are around, but bossy when he’s telling the other cats to get off his seat. His nickname is Sir Blueberry Muffin (or just Muffin) as he was roughly the size and colour of a blueberry muffin when he first arrived.
Toulouse’s favourite things are, in order: his mum, food, and having his photo taken.
Phoenix
Phoenix was diagnosed with kidney disease at just 8 weeks old while in the care of a rescue group that Kalinda worked with. His symptoms unfortunately made him extremely difficult to rehome and so Kalinda adopted him. At the time his life-expectancy was estimated as 1-3 years, but he has surpassed that and is doing remarkably well. Because of his health Phoenix joined Kalinda on his first road trip at just 10 weeks old and has explored both NSW and Vic since.
Jalapeno
Jalapeno (Hallie) was 8 months old when she joined Kalinda’s clan. She was surrendered to the clinic after someone rescued her from being thrown in the river. We were able to gather enough information from different people to discover that Hallie is related to Phoenix and unfortunately, they share the same kidney disorder. Hallie’s quirks also include being extra small, pigeon-toed and having a short tail. She is lovingly referred to as a ‘lemon’ but she is the most gentle, easy-going cat in the family and gets along with everyone.
