Rachael has been in the veterinary world for 35 years, qualifying as a vet nurse in 1991. She took a break for a few years to raise three children and run her family motorbike dealership. We were fortunate when she joined the clinic in 2019 as our Practice Manager, a role bringing together her management and nursing skills.
Rachael enjoys a break from the office and you will often see her cuddling our patients and jumping in to help out nursing as well.
At home she has 4 cats (Dusty, Belly, Charlie & Lola) that are mostly failed fosters and 2 dogs – a whippet kelpie cross named Harley and a whippet named Shadow that keep her very active. She loves spending time in her garden and cooking up a storm for her family and the clinic.

Dusty, Belly (previously Ash but his belly grew), Charlie & Lola are all rescue cats, with 2 being failed fosters (ie they never left). They have very different personalities, Dusty is a little bit feral, Belly likes to spend a LOT of dime sleeping, Charlie is very needy and Lola super independent.
Harley is a 4 year old Whippet x Kelpie, a fabulous mix, smart and energetic but also very happy to sleep. Shadow is a whippet who just joined the family at 1 year old, he is a goof ball who’s very long legs, always seem to be in the wrong place. They get along fabulously and don’t mind the cats at all, often sharing their beds, particularly in front of the fireplace in winter.
